The service

soundmachine.app is a free, browser-based ambient sound machine. There is nothing to buy, no account to create and no subscription. You may use it for personal or professional listening, at home, at work, in a classroom or in the background of whatever you are doing.

Provided as-is

The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work to keep it fast, correct and always online, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's liability arising from the use of this free service is excluded.

Not medical advice

Content on this site about sleep, focus and hearing is general information, not medical advice. Sound played too loudly for too long can damage hearing on any device; you are responsible for your listening volume. If you have a sleep, attention or hearing condition, talk to a professional.

The sounds

The recorded ambient sounds are derived from CC0 and Pixabay-licensed recordings, sourced through the open-source Moodist project, and may be listened to freely for any purpose. The white, pink and brown noise are generated live in your browser. The site's code, design and text are © the operator; don't republish the site itself as your own.

Partner links, and how this stays free

The machine is free and has no ads. One page, the machine itself, carries a single clearly labelled partner link to the sleep-mask maker Manta Sleep. If you follow it and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what pays for the hosting.

Three promises hold:

• The free suggestion always comes first, and is always genuinely free to act on.
• A partner link never changes the sounds, the mixes or anything the site does. Nothing here is influenced by what a partner pays.
• We only point at something we would suggest anyway, and there is never more than one such link on a page.

Following a partner link takes you to another company's website, with its own terms, prices and availability, none of which we control or guarantee.

Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to disrupt, overload or attack the service.
• Don't scrape, mirror or rehost the site wholesale.
• Linking to any page, including share links with mixes, is welcome.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. Where consumer law in your country grants you stronger mandatory protections, those protections stand.
